What is CDN

The Content Delivery Network (CDN) caches your origin resources on acceleration nodes all over the world. When the end user requests to access and obtain these resources, there is no need to go back to the source, and the system will call the resources that have been cached on the CDN node nearby.

Using CDN to accelerate the distribution of your website content in different regions and different scenarios will effectively share the pressure on the origin site, avoid network congestion, and improve the speed and experience of users accessing resources.

Since CDN is a network overlay layer optimized for speeding up network access, it is vividly called a "network accelerator".

How to use CDN

Taking Alibaba Cloud CDN as an example, Alibaba Cloud CDN service currently supports acceleration in mainland China.
The general process of accessing Alibaba Cloud CDN service is divided into the following steps:

1. Activate the service
2. Add an accelerated domain name
3. Configure CNAME
